Carsie Blanton

#7: Ain’t So Green

Folk musician and grown unschooler Carsie Blanton talks about how she went from being a starving artist to a successful singer-songwriter.

Today we talk with Carsie Blanton, a grown unschooler from Philadelphia who has spent the past four years establishing herself as a professional musician. While the first few years were lean, Carsie now makes a “middle class” living, she says, playing hundreds of live shows throughout the U.S. each year.

Carsie has released two albums, Ain’t So Green and Buoy, and toured with musical acts such The Wood Brothers and Joan Osborne. She also performs the theme song for our podcast.
